A BLOG ABOUT THE DILEMMAS OF LIFE AND HOW TO BETTER FACE THEM
Hopefully you're here because you're one of the many who're finally realising that therapy, counselling, whatever you want to call it, is for everyone. You do not have to be in a crisis to seek counselling or therapy. You do not have to have a mental illness. You do not have to be referred by your GP. Therapy is beneficial for every person facing the dilemmas of life - and that is every person. And if you've not yet reached that conclusion, hopefully this blog will get you there. We look after our bodies by exercising and eating healthily, so we should make the same effort in looking after our minds by seeking counselling or therapy. However, it's all well and good preaching about the benefits of therapy, but the reality is, it's bloomin' expensive.
So, that's where I come in. Through this blog I will be providing you with weekly segments on making sense of this thing we call life as I journey to become a counsellor. I want to normalise the inaccessible and often taboo concept of therapy and counselling.
In giving this, I ask one thing of you: please, do yourself (and myself) a favour and open up and reach out. Discussion, comments, responses, queries and requests will be the lifeblood of this blog. My role as counsellor is to listen, but it's rather hard to listen when I'm the only one talking.
